Lookup Josephine County Inmate Records

Josephine County inmate records are searched first through the county jail roster, then through records requests, court records, VISOR, ODOC, BOP, or ICE when the person is outside local custody. A Josephine County jail roster search can show current jail status, released booking-date results, booking numbers, court rows, bond and bail fields, and charge descriptions. The county inmate lookup is local to the Adult Jail, so sentenced state prisoners, federal inmates, and immigration detainees require separate official systems.

Josephine County Jail Roster

The official Josephine County inmate records portal is the Josephine County Jail Inmate Inquiry. It is free, does not require a login, and is hosted on the Tyler Technologies/New World Inmate Inquiry platform. The roster covers people in the Josephine County Adult Jail and also supports date-range searches for released or broader booking records when the In Custody box is cleared.

The roster is not a complete criminal history database. It does not replace court case records, police reports, ODOC prison records, BOP federal records, or ICE immigration detention records. A person booked in Josephine County may start on the jail roster, then move to the Circuit Court case system after charges are filed, and later move to an Oregon prison locator after a state-prison sentence.

Custody split: Josephine County Adult Jail records cover local jail custody. Oregon Offender Search covers sentenced state custody after transfer.

Search Josephine County Inmates

Start with a name if no booking number is known. The roster can also search by subject number or booking number, which can be useful when a prior profile, citation, court case, or jail paper lists one. For a current inmate search, leave In Custody checked. For a recent or released booking search, clear that box and use Booking From Date and Booking To Date.

  1. Open the official Josephine County Jail Inmate Inquiry.
  2. Enter a name, subject number, or booking number.
  3. Leave In Custody checked for current jail records, or clear it and add a booking-date range.
  4. Use Housing Facility only when narrowing to Josephine County Adult Jail or the Temporary Out of custody roster option.
  5. Press Search and review the result count and grid fields.
  6. Open the person's name link to view the detail profile.

The public roster result grid captured in the project image set shows live rows and count ranges.

The grid view is useful for identity checks, but charges, bond, bail, court dates, and docket numbers require opening the linked detail profile.

Josephine County Search Fields

Josephine County's roster fields allow a broad search or a narrow lookup. No official wildcard rule is posted, so partial-name searches should be verified against other identifiers before treating a match as the right person. The system displays up to 100 rows per page in observed results, so common names may require paging or a second search with dates or identifiers.

Josephine County Inmate Profile

A roster profile is a jail record, not a final court record. It can list the charge description used at booking, a docket number, the arresting agency, court rows, and bond rows, but prosecutors may later amend, reduce, add, or dismiss charges. Court case status should be verified through Oregon Judicial Department systems or Josephine County Circuit Court.

Josephine County Jail Facility

Josephine County's public facility map has one local detention facility: the Josephine County Adult Jail. The jail is operated by the Josephine County Sheriff's Office and houses adults booked into local custody, including pretrial detainees, local sentenced inmates, warrant and hold cases, and people with court dates in Josephine County Circuit Court.

Josephine County Booking Records

Booking begins when an arrested person is brought into the Josephine County Adult Jail or entered into the jail management system. Intake creates the booking number, booking date, booking origin, identification fields, and initial charge rows that may later appear in the public profile. The Adult in Custody Manual says adults in custody are charged an $8 booking fee that covers a toiletry pack, wristband, mug shot, and prints, with revenue going to the AIC fund for inmate benefit.

The roster does not state a guaranteed time for a new booking to appear online. Newly lodged adults receive phone access after booking and intake are complete, and the jail phone page states outgoing calls run 7 a.m.-9 p.m. with a 15-minute limit. If a new arrest is not visible, use the jail information line, then the Records Division or court records once the case moves forward.

Josephine County Visit Schedule

Josephine County uses video visitation for the Adult Jail. Adults in custody are allowed two free onsite video visits each week, scheduled in 15- or 30-minute increments. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours and not more than one week in advance. Availability can depend on custody status, classification, or another scheduled appointment, so confirm the person's availability before travel.

Josephine County Records Requests

When the roster does not answer a records question, the Sheriff's Records Division is the official local fallback for police reports, CAD incident reports, archived reports, and traffic citations. The division is at the same NE F Street campus as the jail and lists lobby hours Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Oregon public-records law allows access to many public records, but the Sheriff's records page warns that elder abuse, child abuse, juvenile records, health information, ongoing investigation material, and certain personal information can be withheld or redacted.
